The External Research Network (ERN) is a network of academic and research centres affiliated to KMM-NoE but outside of the core of the KMM-NoE Participants. Institutions in ERN have common interests in and work in the three main KMM themes: Intermetallics, MCCs, FGMs, with special regard to processing, characterization, experimental mechanics, modelling, simulation, and applications.

The ERN members will have access to KMM-NoE Intranet with access rights specified for ERN members.

The ERN members will be informed of all KMM-NoE spreading activities as potential participants of these events.

The ERN members will also have access to the KMM-NoE e-Library and other information within the limits of the intellectual property rights as specified in the KMM-NoE Consortium Agreement.

Communication of ERN members with KMM-NoE will be supported by a number of ERN national contact points, established in the KMM-NoE participating countries such as : Poland (WUT), • Ukraine (IPSUA) • Bulgaria (IMBAS) • Slovakia (ICASAS) • Austria (MCL) • Germany (TUD) •  France (LMT) • Spain (CIDETEC) • Italy (UNIVPM) • United Kingdom (UWC).

This External Research Network is aimed at :

i) Spreading the KMM-NoE-generated knowledge among academic and research centres beyond the KMM Network.

ii) Monitoring the new progress outside the KMM Network in the relevant KMM field (for instance: other European, national research programmes).

iii) Ensuring interactive programming of the Network training activities as well as other exchanges between KMM network members and External Research Network members.

iv) Contributing to and stimulating contributions to KMM fields from beyond the current KMM-NoE

v) Broadening knowledge portfolio of KMM-NoE

vi) Providing platform for interaction with other research institutions in KMM field
